He holds an honours degree in Estate Management from Kingston Polytechnic (currently known as Kingston University London), England, a Registered Valuer, Real Estate Agent and Property Manager by profession, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) and a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Mohan has more than 34 years in property consultancy which is among others are valuation for various types of properties including plantation valuations, listing valuations (IPO), listed company valuations, Securities Commission valuations, Bursa Malaysia valuations, family property disputes, mortgage valuations, probate valuations, compulsory acquisition, litigations, arbitrations, tender sales and corporate real estate.
